Summer in New England

So, this post was written in September but never published. It's now December and I don't think this post will improve by adding anything at this point. It's pretty good as is. So, here it is.

In late July, we took our what seems to be by now annual summer trip to New England to see families and friends. We spent time in mostly Maine (Kevin's family camp) and a few days in Massachusetts (I-Chwen's brothers).

Megan got to play with her cousins who enthusiastically surrounded her the whole time. They usually started with "coffee tea?" (a game Megan does with tea set) every morning. Then moved outside to explore the ground.

When weather permitted (thankfully many days), we all go to the lake.

It's been a year since Megan last saw the lake, she was only shy for about 5 min before putting her feet in happily. Then she got comfortable enough to walk around holding our hands - and went deeper and deeper (which wasn't that deep, maybe 2 feet at most). Then she got brave and let go of her feet, so I got to drag her around in about 2 feet of lake, she thought that was great fun! The next thing I knew, I turned around and she laid down on her belly and flopping her arms (with water wings) as if she was swimming!

When Megan was tired of swimming, she found other things to keep her busy:

You can't go to Maine without going to LL Bean in Freeport. You can't go to LL Bean without taking a picture with the boot:
